Spreading a Passion for STEM Among School Students
Recognizing that school students graduating from high school in the 20s need to be introduced to as many of the emerging STEM topics as possible, JFI staff mentor community-based robotics teams that participate in FTC Robotics Competitions. JFI staff also volunteer at the FTC Robotics Competitions so that these programs can be sustained over many years and reach as many school students as possible.
Besides FTC Robotics competitions, JFI runs STEM programs at places of worship that have good cultural and fine arts programs outside school hours. JFI staff also participate in health sciences events geared towards students who are interested in health science careers.
Reaching Out Beyond New Jersey
JFI recognizes that for every community in New Jersey, there are numerous communities around the world that could benefit from periodic classes related to STEM topics. JFI participates in outreach events organized by students of New Jersey-based FTC teams for other students in developing countries like Colombia and India.
